Hockey City Classic
When we were little, my sisters and I thought it was the absolute best day when it was our individual turn for a "daddy date". Our dad would plan a date and we would get to go spend time with him, without the other sisters. We would go somewhere fun and then we always came home with some type of souvenir from the night. Which of course was used to make the other sisters jealous. It was such a treat to spend time with our dad. And I still look forward to these dates!
My favorite times with my dad were getting to go to wild hockey games. (I was actually at the game when Darby Hendrickson scored the first-ever home goal! And have his autographed picture on the wall of my bedroom at home.) This past weekend I was able to have a date with my dad for the hockey city classic game played at the tcf bank stadium at the University of Minnesota! There hasn't been an outdoor hockey game at the university in over 80 years. The gophers defeated Ohio State with over 45,000 fans braving the single digit temperatures. Check out my facemask. So fun to be a part of it, and with my Dad!!
A few pictures of our evening.. starting with a brewery and a food truck, obviously.
