Now, if you know me in real life (even just a little) you know that I love me some birthdays.
But saying goodbye to 21 was a little more sentimental than it usually is.
21 was a really great year for me. Sure, it had ups and downs, and hopefully in one year, I will say that saying goodbye to 22 is just as wonky.
But 21 was special.
I grew so much as a person in my year as a 21 year old. I accomplished a lot, I met a lot of insanely awesome people and tomorrow, when I wake up as a 22 year old, I will be a better person because of the last year of my life.
While I was twenty one, I..
Had to say goodbye to friends and family while I traveled, and then was welcomed home by them. You learn who your soulmates are in a process like that.
Had really responsible nights. And some really not responsible nights. (cheers!)
Found my niche in school. That was super awesome.
Learned which friendships/relationships make me a better/happier person, and devoted more time to them.
Fell harder in love with my family.
Lived and worked in another country. (this deserves like fifty points!)
Dated a really nice guy, who was really wrong for me. Dated a really nice guy, who was really good for me. Said goodbye to both.
Took a nice weekend getaway to visit people I love. I hope this travel theme continues in my life forever.
Moved into my first (super tiny studio) apartment.. all on my own.
Applied for college graduation.
Found my balance.
So as my A-day ends and I have a whole B-day ahead of me, (for those of you who don't know.. I celebrate A-day, B-Day and c-day.. it's like a birthday sandwich!) I guess I just wanted to say thank you.
Thank you for being a part of my life, even if only through this silly blog that I love. And cheers to making 22 my best year yet.
And a special thank you to anyone who celebrates with me! I will have to share a little bit of how awesome my birthday sandwich of days are :)
